RUSSIAN CARGO SHIP LAUNCHES TO THE INTERNATIONAL SPACE STATION An unpiloted Russian Progress cargo craft rocketed away from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan June 29 atop a Russian Soyuz 2.1a booster, carrying almost two tons of food, fuel and supplies for the crew members aboard the International Space Station. The ISS Progress 78 cargo vehicle separated from the second stage of the Soyuz booster almost nine minutes after launch, headed for an automated docking to the Poisk module on the Russian segment of the station July 1.
