Filled with several thousand pounds of supplies and scientific experiments, the uncrewed SpaceX Dragon cargo spacecraft’s departure from the International Space Station was postponed Jan. 11 by high winds in the prime splashdown region east of Daytona Beach, Florida. SpaceX was assessing the forecast for the next opportunity to bring Dragon home. For the first time, the upgraded Dragon cargo spacecraft will undock from Harmony, then will conduct a series of thruster firings to move to a safe distance from the station for its deorbit burn and its high-speed reentry back to Earth.
