From Martha W4MSA (tnx!):

The following is from the Facebook page of the Amateur Radio Club of Columbia County. It was posted by Dan Marshall N4MI, president of the club. Dan was operating the 2 m station.

ARCCC, Inc. had a fantastic morning running special event station W4Y for the Get-on-the-Air Event at Savannah River Academy. Another post with the full story and lots of pictures is forthcoming.

We would like to take a moment to thank some local and not-so-local hams who spent several hours this morning monitoring the 146.985 repeater, Echolink, and HF, and talking to lots of enthusiastic and engaging students.

Special thanks to: KO4VW, Steve in Roswell; K4MPM Ted in Peachtree Corners; W4MSA, Martha in Stone Mountain; N4TTY, Steve in Stone Mountain; KN4OAK, Mike in Johns Creek; K9PAL, Bill in Evans; KO4LDS, Dave in Evans; AI4XF, Todd in North Augusta; K1OYQ, Pete in Evans; KJ4HZ, Ray in Hepzibah; KD8COJ, Gordon in Michigan; and N4WFU, Barry in North Carolina.

The students also had the privilege of talking to two “DX” (long distance) stations via Echolink. Thank you to DW5CD, Alain in the Philippines, and IU2LXR, Micol in Italy! Those contacts were very exciting!
